Volunteer Experience
Are you involved in the community, donating your time to a cause that is important to you? If not, think about how you can get involved. Service to others helps the community, and it's also beneficial to you
- It provides a healthy boost to your self-esteem, self-confidence and life satisfaction.
- You gain real-world experience and can learn about different career paths and make connections.
- Volunteer work is viewed very favorably by colleges, scholarship committees and employers. You will be prompted to list volunteer work on your college applications and should definitely include it on a resume in a job search. Try to keep track of it throughout high school, and going forward in life, so that you can easily list it on a resume or application.
