College-Specific Scholarships

Each college offers their own scholarships. You can usually find information about scholarships by going to a school's Financial Aid webpage. Be sure to check application deadlines. For the larger flagship scholarships, application dates are oftentimes very close to the early action/early decision application deadlines. Other scholarships may have deadlines a month or so after. Each school is different, so check the websites of each school to which you apply! Some sample scholarships are listed below:

UNC Asheville Access Asheville program - This program guarantees full tuition and fees coverage for NC residents whose adjusted gross incomes is $80,000 or less. There are additional merit based scholarships available at UNC-A. This is just one special program to highlight.

UNC Charlotte Levine Scholars Program - a merit-based scholarship at UNC Charlotte providing full tuition, summer experiences and a civic engagement grant; Deadline: Nov 15 (may seek school nomination, which is due Oct 15; must apply to UNCC by Nov 1 Early Action deadline)

NCSU Park Scholarship - full tuition scholarship at NCSU; Deadline: November 1, 2024

Cheatham-White Scholars - a merit-based scholarship available to incoming freshmen at North Carolina A & T State University and North Carolina Central University. The scholarship fully funds four years of higher education.  Nominations must be made by November 1, and the application is due December 1.

UNC Morehead-Cain Scholarship - full tuition scholarship at UNC Chapel Hill; students may apply as school nominees or through self-nomination process; Deadline: October 1, 2024

UNC Thomas Wolfe Scholarship - full tuition scholarship at UNC Chapel Hill for Creative Writing; Deadline: November 15, 2024

Robertson Scholars - a merit-based scholarship for Deadline: November 15, 2024

NC Promise - While not a scholarship, the NC Promise program offers significant savings in the cost of college attendance! Through the NC Promise, the state has significantly reduced student tuition costs to $500 per semester at four UNC System institutions: Elizabeth City State University, Fayetteville State University, The University of North Carolina at Pembroke, and Western Carolina University.
