MINUTES

OF

SPECIAL CALLED MEETING

2/2/10

The Board of Directors of Vance Charter School held a Special Called Meeting on February 2^nd 2010. The following members were present and constituted a quorum:

Jill Pike, Chairperson Tom Betts

Janet Gruchacz, Vice Chairperson Harrison Ford

Pat Olmert, Treasurer Karen Bobbitt

Jay Andrews, Secretary Bill Satterwhite

Mike Johnson Clem Seifert

Cydne Sharpe

Also present was Sean Connolly.

WELCOME

Jill Pike called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

PUBLIC COMMENT

None.

Cydne Sharpe made a motion to go into closed session to discuss personnel and contract matters with Mr. Connolly present. Karen Bobbitt seconded.

Later, Cydne made a motion to go out of closed session. Janet Gruchacz seconded.

Cydne then made a motion to extend a two year contract as Principal to Mr. Sean Connolly at the state salary scale. Mike Johnson seconded. The motion passed unanimously.

Cydne made a motion to authorize Mr. Connolly to hire a Curriculum Director at a salary up to and including $60,000. Tom Betts seconded. The motion passed unanimously.

Clem Seifert made a motion that the Board instruct dr. von Rohr to include Mr. Connolly in all decisions relating to the Principal’s duties including the hiring of school personnel for the 2010-2011 school year with Mr. Connolly to have the final decision when applicable. Cydne seconded. The motion passed unanimously.

At this time, Mr. Connolly recommended to the Board the hiring of Dr. Jo Read as Curriculum Director effective 7/6/10 at a salary of $60,000. The Board voted unanimously to accept this recommendation and authorized Jill Pike to sign the contract.

Mike Johnson made a motion to adjourn. Cydne seconded. The meeting was adjourned at 8:11 p.m.
